Computer Science Department. Fitchburg State University.

I joined the Computer Science department at Fitchburg State University, MA as an Assistant Professor in September 2024.

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston, advised by Professor Ping Chen. My research interest lies in the intersection of artificial intelligence, especially Natural Language Processing, and education. My doctoral research is on semantic representation learning at word and sentence level. Another direction I have been working in is using generative Large Language Models and other NLP techniques to create an automated grading and feedback system to assist both instructors in teaching and students in learning. I am also interested in developing applied machine-learning algorithms to model the psychological and cognitive processes in learning. My recent research has been more focused on exploring Metacognition and Critical Thinking abilities in LLMs. Besides research, I am passionate about teaching and how to make AI work for education.

Before my study in computer science, I had about six years of working experience in executive search consulting. I hold an MS in Computer Science and Psychology and a BA in Public Administration. My interdisciplinary background provides me with a broader view when trying to solve problems.

Beyond my academic and professional life, I enjoy many kinds of outdoor activities, reading, and cooking.

Jan., 2026 Our paper "Implementation of a Metacognition Framework for Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation in Ensembles of LLMs" is accepted by the Web Conference 2026.
May, 2024 I served as a Program Committee Member for the 33rd ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM 2024).
